About the Orienteering Course Project
This website showcases an orienteering course designed as part of Simone Hounshell’s Eagle Project. It provides essential skills, maps, and resources to help you enjoy orienteering safely and confidently.
Created by Simone Hounshell, this project aims to make orienteering more accessible and engaging for beginners, with basic guides, downloadable maps, and links to videos.
Orienteering is a recreational activity in which participants use a map and compass to move from point to point in the real world. It can be a competitive sport which is timed or a more leisurely activity.
In either case being able to use a map and compass to navigate in the real world is a life skill everyone should have if only to know what to do when you lose reception or run out of batteries.
